- LCC Supported Monitoring Visit - January 2016 - Helen Belbin, Deputy Area Team Leader of Lancashire County Council School Improvement Service. The headteacher asks Helen to spend a full day in school every so often to determine whether our self-evaluation of the school as outstanding is accurate. During her visits Helen observes lessons, looks through samples of work, questions subject leaders and quizzes pupils about their perception of the school. This evidence base led Helen to agree with our evaluation of the school as outstanding in all areas. We are delighted that our hard work in moving the school forward since our last Ofsted Inspection has ensured that we continue to meet this exacting standard. We are particularly proud of the following paragraph as we believe it sums us up perfectly:
Pupils' personal development and attitudes to learning are exemplary. They present as good-humoured, respectful, polite and well-behaved children, enveloped in a school climate that exudes care and concern for them. They are notably articulate, keen and interested, engaging readily in conversation that is often thoughtful and frequently lively.
