Welcome to the Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) page

Chairs - Louise Hallas and Ally Lawson

Did you know that any parent of a child at the school is automatically considered a member of the PTFA?  We are delighted to welcome any parent at our short event planning meetings, details of which are published in the school newsletter as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages.  We tend to meet on the third Tuesday of each month in The Pickled Goose at 8pm. Meetings last around an hour. If you are not able to attend the meetings, volunteering at an event or doing some preparation behind the scenes is always welcome.  Please contact the school office for more details.

We hold an AGM in late September where the committee (Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary) are elected.  The appointments last for 1 year.

Throughout the school year we organise and run a number of fund raising events, with ALL the money raised ploughed back into equipment, goods and services which otherwise the children would do without.  Typically, upwards of £6,000 is raised and donated each year.  It makes a big difference.

In the last 12 months the money we have raised has been used for:

·       A pre-Christmas  pantomime visit to The Lowther Pavilion in Lytham

·       Reading Books

·       Maths Equipment

·       a contribution towards the MUGA upgrade

We are a registered charity.  Our registered charity number is: 1162270.

Examples of annual fundraising events include:

·        The World Food and Drink Festival (one for the parents)

·        The Fireworks Night and Bonfire (for the family and local residents)

·        Film Night (for the children)

.        Barton Ball (one for the parents)

Easy Fundraising

Please consider raising funds for the school via easyfundraising. Use easyfundraising to shop with over 3,300 retailers including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, Booking.com, eBay, Boden, and M&S.

Shopping online doesn’t cost you a penny more, and every time you make purchases online retailers make a donation to the school. All you do to register is ‘Support this cause’ (Barton St Lawrence Primary PTFA) and start shopping. Please give it a go and encourage others to do so too – it’s effectively free to benefit the children of this school. Thank you, we’d be really grateful for your donations.
